Below is my preliminary task video:
In this clip stars: Elijah Maxwell (Angry man)
........................... Samuel Griffiths (Sitting down)
Camera work by: Jenni Smith
The clip utilizes the 180 rule and shot, reverse shot by incorporating them into a conversation with 2 people. The rules are used here to ensure that the conversation is kept from confusing views as it prevents the appearance of "teleportation" or "character swapping" between the two.
An array of shot types are used mixing medium shots, close ups and even an extreme close up to make maximum emphasis on a particular shot, an example of this is the use of the extreme close up at the start of the clip with the door handle being turned. I used this because the shot type puts maximum focus upon the door handle moving. The extreme close up isnt used after that as there is too much too fit on screen, as the rest of the clip shows where in that case medium shots are used, an example of this is in the conversation where emphasis was intended on the whole character not just a part of him.
As editing is used i have decided to make the clip rather fast paced by keeping the cuts tight and regular sharp to reflect the mood of Elijah until the end where the anger and suspense are dropped and the cuts are slowed down but still kept close.
